SINGLE AGAIN? 6 WAYS TO CELEBRATE INDEPENDENCE BY JEANALYN A. DECLARO
STUCK in your room and crying because you just got out of a relationship and you find yourself SINGLE AGAIN? Being single after being in a long relationship is definitely hard. You feel down, scared, and afraid to look for love again. Hey, snap out of it. Have a life! Here’s how...
Schedule a day or weekend trip. No sense locking yourself in your room and crying the whole day. Instead, schedule a trip to a place you’ve been wanting to see or try outdoor activities like hiking, mountain climbing, or swimming either with your family or friends, or by yourself. A different environment gives you time to think and reassess your life.
Exercise. Study shows that exercise can calm your mood and reduces pain, depression, and anxiety. Get a membership to the gym, attend an aerobic class, or do yoga. Negative thoughts will not only flush away, you will also have a beautiful and healthy body.
Go to the spa or to the salon. This is the right time to pamper yourself. A day in a spa will give your mind and body a soothing and relaxing feeling. Or reinvent yourself by going to the salon. Try the season’s haircut and color. It will surely boost your confidence.
Bond with your family. Now is the time to bond with them. Treat them to an ice cream store, or go shopping with your mom and sisters. Have a mini concert videoke at your house. This way, you will be able to make up for the lost time with them when you were busy with your boyfriend.
Volunteer for a noble cause. Volunteer in activities of religious and charitable institutions. Giving happiness to others will give you inner peace and satisfaction.
Start dating. If you feel you are ready enough, then start dating. Come on, guys are not the same. Start with group date if you feel uneasy being with a guy alone. You don’t have to hurry. Remember, happiness is a choice. Decide to be happy. |
